We departed from the campsite at 9AM to pick up supplies from the local corner shop and begin our hike. The car ride was interesting, as some of the hill starts were challenging. However, the car persevered, and we had to maintain 3rd gear at 40 throughout the journey.

Start of Our Expedition
We started our expedition at 10AM walking a loop around the top of Bleaklow. The total distance for the hike was 20KM. ( This was to refine upon navigational skills in featureless terrain to ensure future expeditions flow smoothly.) We tested our kit in the unrelenting rain that persisted from the second we got to the bottom of the hill, to the second we got off the hill and got into the car. Our clothes were soaked and kit tested and there were many regrets regarding kit management. The team all had waterproofs on but after 5 hours of unrelenting rain, even the toughest of kit can fail. Morale stayed high all across the trip with plenty of laughs and jokes along the way. But most important of all, no one regretted coming on the trip. Sure the terrain was Challenging for some (Plenty of waterlogged Heathland and Baby Heads) but the journey was the enjoyable part of the trip.
Beautiful views!
Thanks for muggin me off Jobie :)
Its official Mason is the best shoe tier in the Peaks.
To summarise the Bleaklow Expedition, the trip went great plenty of laughs and plenty of wet feet. No one regrets coming on the trip, but instead regrets their choice of waterproofs. This was a challenging hike, Especially for those who have no prior experience. As a trip (and a first expedition) this was a great trip.
